Air Motor Assembly and Motion Study
| Exploded view of Air Motor |
The Air Motor was a class assingment in ME 251 that involved numerous components, different configurations of components, mating of all the components, and doing a motion study with some of the components hidden.
Brio Drawbridge Design Project
| Proof of concept assembly drawing for the Brio Bridge |
Another ME 251 assignment, in this assignment the task was to design a new bridge for a Brio train set. Design parameters were that it prevent a one inch tall train from passing underneath it when the bridge was down and involve some sort of mechanical mechanism to raise and lower drawbridge.
Bottling Station Assembly
Yet another ME 251 assignment, in this group assignment the objective was to design a housing to house the mechanism, a cam to push the camshaft, and the Geneva wheel, and then to assemble them all. The various shafts were, according to the problem statement, transferring power from the bottom shaft to three stages of a bottling process, and keeping the timing correct between all three stations.
High School Senior Project
My senior year of high school I was enrolled in a metalshop class were we were expected to build projects from outside of the classroom. For my project, I built a system of struts and brackets to allow a single boat trailer to carry two boats, so that my family could take our two boats cross country that summer. The parts outlined in orange above are what I helped design, and then modeled, fabricated and welded myself. The brackets were made from square tubing and plate shapes welded together. The plate shapes were modeled in SolidWorks, exported to MasterCAM and converted to tool paths, and then cut on a CNC plasma cutter.
