I am an aspiring
young engineer in my 4th year of a mechanical engineering degree at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Beyond my academics, for which
I have made both the Dean’s List and President’s List, I have been the Equipment
Manager and Treasurer for the Cal Poly Sailing Team, helping maintain and repair the boats
used for practices as well, track and project the team spending, and plan the clubs first hosted regatta. My interest in engineering stems from my fascination with how things work --be it
can openers, sailboats or jet fighters—and I hope to one day design such things on my own.
